As I was busy trying to organize and clean the house, my daughter ( a five year old adorable girl) asked me what she will do with her old toys. I told her if it's not good or not working properly just throw it away. I continued with my usual house cleaning chores and when I peeped into her bedroom, she told me "Mommy the Dora DVD is not working". I told her I will try to wipe it clean. She said...Mommy, you said if its not working, throw it away...its not working...so I threw it away. The $13 DVD was there in the trash...wet, now really dirty and can't be rescued. Then, I told her that if she needs to throw anything that doesn't work...she would have to show it to me first.
The other day, we went to Kmart to do some shopping. I call my daughter "big girl" as she doesn't want to be called "baby". We kept looking around until we both saw a nice make up kit. She asked me what's it...and I said its a make up kit for big girls...her eyes widened and she said proudly..."mommy, I am a big girl...I can have that make up kit". I could not believe what I heard. Well, anyway, now I know when to call her "big girl" and to be so careful of what I am about to tell her as it bounced back to me.
