One Friday afternoon, I asked my husband that we looked around for another vehicle as my Nissan Quest 95 with more than 250K miles sounds like it needs "tinkering". We went to a dealership, we did not get the Jeep Liberty Renegade 06 because the monthly is $385+. They said why not try the Suzuki XL7 07 with dual transmission and certified. We end up with $334+ a month for 72 months. Why? I have my husband is a co-applicant who happens to have 2 repos, 540+ credit but he is the one who has good income. Unlike me with a close to 650 credit but I only earned $1000 gross monthly. I asked for discount...not given...they said that we are lucky a bank accepted the loan with an interest rate of 19.20++ Then added the gap insurance, tag title, whatever, closing cost, whatever that is...ta da! the used vehicle costs like $26,000 that includes the Nissan Quest as trade in which they only valued at $500 and they asked for $1500 down...so its $2000 down.
I want to hear from experienced people who had this experience, or one who works in a car dealership and I want to know their opinion...did we or did we not get a good deal?
